Course Description

Unlock better breathing with this FREE Pilates class. Tight muscles around the neck, shoulders and chest inhibit good breathing. A simple daily Pilates practice can help you remove the tension from overworked ‘bad breathing muscles’ and open up the ‘good breathing muscles’.
Do you spend too much time sitting down, at the desk, or feeling tense and stressed? Do something good for your body instead and take some time out to breathe, stretch and clear the mind.

Join us for this FREE 15-minute Pilates Fusion Class, suitable for any age and any stage.

Breathing coach, physiotherapist, and Pilates instructor, Emma Ferris, guides you through a ‘quick fix’ Pilates class. This fusion-style class is designed to release tight muscles, improve posture, increase core stability and increase blood flow with the aim of making it easier to breathe better.

Pilates is a safe, gentle and effective form of exercise that incorporates breathing awareness into controlled movements. This class is specially designed for beginners and anyone who needs help with bad breathing habits.

Pilates is great for every body, especially:

• Anyone who spends a lot of time at a desk
• Busy mums and dads who need a way to get a clear mind and a healthy body
• Anyone who suffers from pain or anxiety
• Anyone who wants to retrain their breathing habits and find optimal health and wellness

What’s so important about good breathing?

Most of us breathe in more than we breathe out.

Known as inefficient breathing, habits like shallow breathing and mouth breathing cause us to over-breathe. Sustained over-breathing causes a change to the body’s chemistry that impacts on many of the body’s key functions and systems. Pilates teaches us to exhale deeply and gives us the time to hold each stretch for a minute or longer to allow the muscles to unlock.

Do you suffer from:

• Neck and back pain
• Fatigue
• Brain fog
• Stress
• Anxiety or depression
• Slow recovery or reduced performance (for athletes)
• A feeling of not being able to take a deep breath
• Irregular breathing pattern and lung problems
• Inability to work through emotional trauma or grief?

These are all common symptoms of ineffective breathing.

There is a safe, simple solution

Learning to breathe better is as simple as retraining your breathing muscles. Learning to breathe effectively and efficiently allows your body to function at its optimal level by allowing a healthy flow of blood and oxygen to enter the brain and the body. Trust us, your body will thank you for it! Breathing techniques are widely regarded as one of the most significant ways to deal with both physical and psychological pain.

Hi Emma. I wanted to share with you how much I am enjoying this Pilates Fusion Course. I've been doing it every day for 30 days and I feel so much better. It energizes and relaxes me and makes me feel alive! I've been struggling with a long term illness for 18 months which has also resulted in a lot of anxiety about going out the house. These exercises have really helped deal with this. I have also felt a lot more flexible and have been able to sit cross-legged comfortably for the first time in years. Thank you so much. Sue
